Is there any one out there that would want a reunion? If so talk it up on this web site or facebook or any way you can send me an e-mail. I will be looking for some help from some of you. We may be late but so what? Maybe have one with the class of ‘67 if we have to or have a 61-year reunion We thank all the people who have done this all these years. It is time we step up.
Eddie, good idea and I don’t think it is too late for a ‘26 60th Reunion. As you probably know, the same people tended to organize these reunions every time and we may have burned them out. So, with possibly a smaller crew working on it (and an older group of attendees), maybe we should consider something simpler than in the past. Maybe a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres the first night and a dinner the second, both at Oak Ridge restaurants to keep the work load to a minimum. That would cost more but how many more of these will we have? I will be happy to send out the invites via the website, hoping that our email contact info is close to accurate.
I agree with Ted. I've spoken to people from other reunions and they have pointed out that at this age the reunion attendees are on fixed incomes and do not want to have to spend a lot of money, especially if they're having to have travel cost on top of everything else. I think it needs to be simple and some of the groups have catered pizza for one night and Buddy's BBQ the second keeping the cost low and simple.
Another Factor has been their health and age. They don't want to stay up until 11:00 or 12:00 at night. Most leave around 8:00 or 9:00 because their eyesight's worse or their health limits their ability to stay up and active and they prefer to do something in the early afternoon and evening.
They're most interested in an interesting evening without loud music where they can sit around and talk with their friends
