Alice Marie Steele, born Aug. 2, 1948, in Oak Ridge, Tenn., passed away at her home in Oak Ridge on Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Allison; and brother, Ronnie Allison.

She leaves behind her son, Chad Steele, daughter-in-law, Christy, and her two grandsons, Stephen and Justin, of Huntsville, Ala. She is survived by her mother, Helen Allison; sisters, Mary Dunnebacke and husband, Howard, of Oak Ridge, Eleanor Clements and husband, Billy, of Douglasville, Ga.; her nephew, John Dunnebacke of Austin, Texas; and niece, Angie Weaver and husband, Larry, of Douglasville, Ga., and their daughters, Samantha and Victoria.

Marie was a member of Heritage Fellowship Church, and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1966. She was employed at Y-12 Federal Credit Union until her retirement in 2007.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, 2009, at Weatherford Mortuary from 11 a.m. until noon. The funeral will begin at noon and burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Donations, in memory of Alice Marie Steele, can be made to the National Kidney Foundation serving East Tennessee, 4450 Walker Boulevard, Suite 2, Knoxville, TN 37917.
