Evelyn M. Davis, 60, of Clinton, returned to God on May 19, 2009.
She was born August 30, 1948 in Oak Ridge, the daughter of Bruce Hooper Davis and Edith Pauline Hawkins Davis.
Miss Davis was employed as bookkeeper for Woodland Elementary School in Oak Ridge for over 30 years. She had also worked at the Oak Ridge Science Center and the Navy Department in Washington DC after graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1966.
She loved animals and was an avid reader. She also spent many hours communicating with family and friends on-line.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Moneymaker and Barbara Tipton.
She is survived by sisters, Patricia McAndrew, Helen Valentine, Dora Gibson and husband Thomas, 7 nieces, 6 nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cats, Buddy, Molly and Biana. She will be surely missed by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2109 Piney Grove Church Rd., Knoxville, TN 37909. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Young-Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN 37919 or to the donor's favorite charity.
