After ORHS, graduated with an economics degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1970.  Nancy Levey and I were married in July of that year and moved to Ann Arbor, MI.  Received an MBA from University of Michigan in 1972.  We were only planning to stay in Michigan for those two years, but life being what it is, we ended up living there, mostly in the Detroit area, for 35 years!  My career was in investments and Nancy’s, advertising.  Michigan was very good to us but we finally retired and moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2005.
Spend time golfing, boating, fishing and chasing our two long-haired dachshunds, among other interests, and have been fairly active in our community administration and activities. Â On a lark, we also opened a booth rental hair salon in 2009 and it is still running smoothly and doing well. Â Neither of us is really a hair person so we provide a nice environment and supplies, currently renting to 16 entrepreneurs who pretty much run their individual businesses.
Our immediate families have shrunk over the years and both Nancy and I are now down to one brother each. Â While we were still caring for our Moms, who both passed away recently, we bought a small condo in Oak Ridge to live in while we were visiting. Â For now, we are going to keep it and have enjoyed re-establishing friendships with ORHS classmates who live in the area, some of them, like us, having moved back to Oak Ridge in recent years. Â Although visiting Oak Ridge from Florida feels bittersweet at times, it always feels like home and brings back many great memories.
