Gill Patty Cox - I graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1970 and married my husband, Barry Cox (Georgia Tech grad), in December 1970. After graduation, I took a teaching job at at Clinton Elementary School and worked there until our first child was born in 1976. I was a full-time homemaker for 11 years while our three children were young. In 1987, I returned to work, this time at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and retired in December 2011 after 25 years of service. I’m LOVING retirement!!! I’m having so much FUN with our 3 grandchildren (ages 8, 5, and 4 years). And, by the time of our reunion, we’ll have another grandbaby (due in April). Barry worked at ORNL and DOE and retired a few years ago. He still does a little consulting. Except for creaky old bones and the occasional sore back, our health is holding up. So . . . we’ve lived in Oak Ridge all these years and I love this place! I’ve been joining the ORHS66 ladies for the monthly luncheons when I can, and it’s been great getting reacquainted with everyone! We couldn’t have asked for a better community in which to raise a family, and two of our three grandkids live in town off of Delaware Avenue in a remodeled “A” house. Who says those original homes aren’t beautiful? What’s not to like about those original wood floors and REAL wood-burning fireplaces! If you live elsewhere, move BACK HOME to Oak Ridge!!! We’d love to have you here!!!
