As I enter my sixty-ninth year I find that I am most thankful for my family and my good health.  My wife  Kathy and I have three wonderful sons (and daughters-in-law), Three even more wonderful grandsons, and a treasured granddaughter.
For someone who had a heart attack and emergency bypass surgery nearly 12 years ago, my health today appears to be excellent. Â I'am convinced that if you feel good and enjoy what you do, you're better off emotionally and physically if you continue to work. Â So, after retiring from surgery (28 years) and politics (10 years in the West Virginia Legislature), I still work four days a week as a physician hospital administrator. Â Most importantly, I still have time to travel, visit family and baby-sit---very different from my goals 50 years ago, but life is certainly good.
