Foust Tommy 11-11-78
Automobile Accident

A 30-year-old Oak Ridge man, Tommy L. Foust, was killed Saturday in an automobile accident near Strawberry Plains.

Mr. Foust,  106 W. Vance Rd., was on his way home from Kroger's in Morristown where he is manager when the car he was driving left U.S. 11 E.. Sargent Harold Calfee, Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, said the car went over the embankment, hit a tree, and burst into flames.  The accident occurred at about 8:30 p.m.

Mr. Foust was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An employee of the Kroger Grocery Corp for 13 years, Mr. Foust was recently made manager of the Morristown store.  Previously he was assistant-manager of the Clinton Highway store.

Mr. Foust grew up in Oak Ridge and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1966.  He was in the Navy in 1968.  He belonged to the Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Regina Ledford Foust, a secretary at Y-12; two children, LeeAnn, 9, and Wendy, 5; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Foust, Jr., 103 Venus Rd.; a sister, Peggy Foust Phillips, Oliver Springs; a brother, Leslie Foust, Marlow community; and a grandmother, Ellen Foust, Lake City.

The family will receive friends tonight 7 to 9 at Martin's Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.  The Rev. Daniel Webster and the Rev. Don DLong will officiate.
