We have just been informed Phyllis Johnson died in Dotham, Alabama Nov 25, 2006 and that her husband Tommy Meadows 1965 died in Dothan, Ala


THOMAS D. MEADOWS



Thomas D. Meadows, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Flowers Hospital. He was 60.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Carl Marshall, pastor of First Baptist Church, Colquitt, officiating.


Burial with military honors followed in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mr. Meadows was born in Woodbury, N.J., Dec. 19, 1947, and moved to Alabama as a child. He resided in Oak Ridge, Tenn., where he graduated high school. Mr. Meadows attended the University of Tennessee for two years and then entered the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, where he served with the 1st Air Cavalry. After his military service, he went back to the University of Tennessee, where he earned his degree in business management. Mr. Meadows worked for 41 years in the health care field and at the time of his death, he was CEO/CFO for the Miller County Hospital Authority in Colquitt.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Meadows, and his wife, Angela, Daphne, AL; a daughter, Traci Jones, and her husband, Michael, Mobile, AL; five grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Ethan Jones, Ansley Jones, Hannah Meadows, and William Meadows; a brother, Halstead Meadows II, and his wife, Elaine, Crossville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Byrd Funeral Home in Dothan, AL ,was in charge of arrangements
