Jim Hodnett, Wildcat # 78
Jim attended Lees-McRae College (then a junior college) in Banner Elk, North Carolina on a football scholarship and played one year at starting right guard before transferring to Univ. of Chattanooga which became the Univ. of Tennessee at Chattanooga before his senior year. He graduated in 1970 with a B.S. in Business Administration and was very active in the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He also holds the Degree of Distinction from the Institute of Financial Education which is the educational arm of the U.S. League of Savings Institutions.
He worked 37 years in Consumer Lending and Branch Management for seven companies in three states and retired from First Citizens Bank at 59 years of age to the greener pastures of community service with First Presbyterian Church and the York Rotary Club. He has been married twice and is now married twenty-one years to Pat Moss Guerry Hodnett, the former Miss South Carolina Universe. Also, he enjoys hunting, fishing, working in the yard, cooking, studying the Bible and doing daily regimented exercise. Additionally, he is a member of Group XX Investment Club, York Crustbreakers Club and is co-founder of the Yorkville Whisky Society. He is most proud of recently getting an Endowment Fund established for his church to facilitate the receipt of gifts from estates. Jim resides peacefully and in good health in York, South Carolina.
