Local Contractor, Realtor
Samuel Wayne Morrison, 31, of 914 Riverbend Rd., Clinton, died Thursday at 7 p.m. at Oak Ridge Hospital, as a result of cancer.  He had been ill for three and one-half years.
A general contractor and a realtor in Oak Ridge and Anderson County Mr. Morrison had owned and operated the former Sam Morrison Construction Company and had been a partner in the former Penco Realty Company before his illness.
Born in Greeneville, Tenn. he grew up in Oak Ridge and attended Woodland Elementary School and Robertsville Junior High School and graduated from Oak Ridge High School.  He was president of the 1966 Oak Ridge High senior class and was captain of the 1965 Wildcats football team.
Mr. Morrison graduated in  1971 from Carson-Newman College, where he played four years on the varsity football team.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Morrison was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Olen W. Morrison of 126 Maryville Cr. His father is retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and his mother, Ruth, is postmaster at Andersonville Post Office.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Carol Blevins Morrison, a first grade teacher at Clinton Elementary School; two daughters, Cher and Kim Morrison of the home; and a brother, Don H. Morrison of Houston, Texas
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the chapel of Holley-Gambel Funeral Home of Clinton, with the Rev. David Webster officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Holley-Gambel Funeral Home.  They request that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
