Sadly I will not be attending our 50th reunion. (Really? 50th? How can that be?)


My husband, Michael Whitenack, and i will be vacationing in Southeast Alaska during the reunion.


We are both in good health and enjoying retirement. I have been retired just 1 year from my graphic design position with a terrific local design firm. Now both of us are devoting quite a bit of time to helping in the care of our numerous grandchildren. The oldest is 7 followed by 6 (these 2 are now in school),  4, 3, and the youngest is 15 months. Michael covers the 4-3 yr olds in Eugene and I commute by train to Portland for a 3 day stay caring part time for the youngest.

Although we hadn't exactly worked that into the retirement equation, they are little for such a short time. We love the time we have been able to spend with each of them.


When we aren't wearing our 'Boppa and Dee Dee' hats with the grandkids, Michael and i love to travel, camp, hike, cross-country ski with friends and family.  When home i spend the warmer months gardening and the wet, cooler months reading and knitting. Michael spends most of his time creating sculpture in his wood studio.
