Harold Lee Spencer, 49, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Spencer was a computer analyst at Lockheed Martin Energy Systems. He began employment Oct. 27, 1969, when the plants were operated by Union Carbide Nuclear Division.
He attended Christ Community Church and was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church.
Mr. Spencer was born Nov. 5, 1948, in Huntington, W. Va., the son of Woodford F. Spencer and Jean Neff Spencer. His father died April 9, 1996, and his mother died June 28, 1980.
A brother, Woodford Tipton 'Tip' Spencer, died July 7, 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Wilde Spencer; and three daughters, Melissa Spencer, a senior at Oak Ridge High School, Natalie Spencer, an eighth-grade student at Robertsville Middle School, and Shannon Thomas of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Spencer is also survived by a sister, Barbara Mitchell, and her husband, Thomas, of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Mary Rayl of Annandale, N.J.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alma and Gene Wilde of Oak Ridge; and by one niece and three nephews.
The funeral was held this morning, Jan. 19, at Robertsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Jobe and the Rev. Michael Prince officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to Christ Community Church, Dick Hochanadel, treasurer, 106 Claremont Road, Oak Ridge; Robertsville Baptist Church, 251 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge; or to the American Cancer Society, Anderson County Unit, in care of Lee Costanzo, 103 Case Lane, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
