Dr. Tom Staats is a Clinical Neuropsychologist still in full-time private practice in Shreveport, Louiisiana.  He Received his BS in Psychology Cum Laude from Emory University, his Master's and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Alabama, and interned at the Department of Psychiarty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  In 1992, he completed a post-doctoral respecialization in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Texas at Tyler.  He has several publications, including one popular book on stress management.  He has served as a gratis faculty 'Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology at Louisiana State University in Shreveport and as a gratis Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport.  He is widowed and has four children.  His hobbies include gun Collecting, sport fishing, travel and scuba diving.  Upon his retirement, he will spend his time between his Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina cabin, the Florida Gulf Coast and Costa Rica.
