Wright Billy Joe Heart Attack
Wright Billy Joe 1995

Billy Joe Wright, 47, of Clemmons, N.C., died Monday, March 20, 1995, in the Forsythe Memorial Hospital of Winston-Salem, N.C., as the result of a heart attack.

He was born in Oak Ridge and graduated in 1966 from Oak Ridge High School, where he played baseball and basketball.  Following graduation Mr. Wright joined the U.S.  Air Force and served as a medic during the Vietnam Conflict from 1967 to 1971.

After his discharge he went to work for Armstrong Rubber Co. of Clinton, now Dico Tire Inc..

Moving to Winston-Salem he was employed at the time of his death,  as plant manager of Salem Printing Co.  He was an avid golfer.

Mr. Wright was the son of the late William H. and Ercelle Wilson Wright.

He is survived by a son a daughter, Joseph Todd Wright and Andrea Erin Wright, both of 101 Kenyon Road and both attending Lee College in Cleveland; a brother Michael Wright of Plaistow,  N,H.;  and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. James Bandy officiating.

Burial will be at 11 a.mn. Thursday, March 21, in Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens.  Honorary pall-bearers will be Mike Davis, Dave Fritts, Jerry Edwards, Steve Graham, David Brown, Ron Boyd, Arthur Farley, Don Whitaker, Pete Ferrill and Jeff Reeves.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
