Billy Joe Wright, 47, of Clemmons, N.C., died Monday, March 20, 1995, in the Forsythe Memorial Hospital of Winston-Salem, N.C., as the result of a heart attack.
He was born in Oak Ridge and graduated in 1966 from Oak Ridge High School, where he played baseball and basketball. Â Following graduation Mr. Wright joined the U.S. Â Air Force and served as a medic during the Vietnam Conflict from 1967 to 1971.
After his discharge he went to work for Armstrong Rubber Co. of Clinton, now Dico Tire Inc..
Moving to Winston-Salem he was employed at the time of his death, Â as plant manager of Salem Printing Co. Â He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Wright was the son of the late William H. and Ercelle Wilson Wright.
He is survived by a son a daughter, Joseph Todd Wright and Andrea Erin Wright, both of 101 Kenyon Road and both attending Lee College in Cleveland; a brother Michael Wright of Plaistow, Â N,H.; Â and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. James Bandy officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.mn. Thursday, March 21, in Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens. Â Honorary pall-bearers will be Mike Davis, Dave Fritts, Jerry Edwards, Steve Graham, David Brown, Ron Boyd, Arthur Farley, Don Whitaker, Pete Ferrill and Jeff Reeves.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
