2006 After ORHS I spent 4 years at UT Knoxville, graduating with a BS degree. In 1969 I married ORHS classmate Ray 'Thump' Hayes. When he graduated from Tenn. Tech., he was commissioned into the Army so I became an 'Army Officer's wife'. We did extensive traveling in Europe while being stationed in Baumholder, Germany for 4 years. Our two sons (Scott 73 and Lee 75 were born in Germany. By the end of the 1977 Ray and I decided to call it quits while we were living at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. As a divorced mother of two, I moved back to Oak Ridge in 1978. That same year I started to work at the Oak Ridger in advertising sales, and I have been there ever since. Yes I like my job.
In 1988 I married Larry Metcalf-ORHS class of 69. We share a happy life here in Oak Ridge. Larry works as a business analyst with BWXT-Y12. We spend our free time in an unending cycle of remodeling our house, gardening, occasional hiking and tending to our cats needs. Both Larry and I are involved with the Oak Ridge Art Center. We're not artist but appreciate art and like to volunteer with much of the work that keeps the Art Center going. I am fortunate that sons Scott now 33 and Lee 31 both live in Oak Ridge with their wives. Scott and wife Leslie have a daughter Katelynn, who celebrated her first birthday in April. Yes my grand daughter is wonderful!
