Heck David 2006I have many fond memories of growing up in Oak Ridge. Like most of my friends, my parents came to Oak Ridge because it offered opportunities for a better life. They both came from coal mining families in KY. In 2005 I was proud to add their names to the Secred City Commemorative Walk Founders Wall. My brother Dickie, was a very well known local bartender in Oak Ridge. My fondest memories of ORHS are of Mr. Grossman's art class and Mr. Adam/s auto mechanics class. After graduation I entered ETSU in Johnson City, TN. Johnson City and the people there was very different from Oak Ridge, the people seemed more rural and my years there were very happy ones.
