OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — The pretend "Killer" is hanging out with the real deal.

Former Oliver Springs resident Matthew "Levi" Kreis, who provides a Tony Award-winning performance of rocker Jerry Lee Lewis each night in the Broadway hit "Million Dollar Quartet," met and talked with Lewis on Wednesday, according to Kreis' father.
A story on Lewis, known as "The Killer," and Kreis is set to appear in The New York Times today (Friday), Ronnie Kreis told The Oak Ridger.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Lewis will join the cast of "Million Dollar Quartet" on stage during the final portion of its show tonight.
The Journal said Levi will give up the piano bench to Lewis, and quoted Levi as saying: "I will roll out the red carpet and let him do his thing.
"This is more than a one-night-only performance," Levi said. "This is Levi getting to meet one of his heroes.
"He was instrumental in influencing the way I play."
Lewis' appearance coincides with the release of his new album, "Mean Old Man”; and in a special edition of the album on sale at the Nederlander Theater, which hosts the musical, Levi sings a duet with Lewis on the 1959 song, "Money (That's What I Want)."
Levi won Best Featured Actor in a Musical at the Tony Awards given in June. In his acceptance speech, he thanked his church and his parents -- Oliver Springs residents Ronnie and Connie Kreis.
Ronnie is a retired Clinton High School teacher and Connie worked at the Y-12 Plant.
Levi attended and was graduated from Mount Pisgah Academy in Oliver Springs.
"Million Dollar Quartet" is inspired by a 1956 jam session at Sun Records in Memphis by four young musicians -- Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins.
