OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Billie Jean Adams George, 83, of Oak Ridge died at her home on March 17, 2011. Her children Jerry, Jr., Jennifer, and Carolyn were by her side. Words cannot satisfy the loss, nor the love felt due to her passing.
Billie was born November 7, 1927, in Wallins Creek, Ky., to the late William McKinley and Helen Franks Adams.
Her husband Jerry, Sr. predeceased her in April 2002 after 57 years of marriage. Her faithful four-legged companion and constant reminder of what is good, Lurlene, also predeceased her by 7 months after 16 years of service. Billie is also predeceased by her brother Bobby Adams.
Billie is survived by her children Jerry George, Jr., Jennifer George, and Carolyn George, her brother J.T. Adams of Laurel, Miss., sisters Ann Natasha Bennett of Farragut, and Helen (Shorty) Mannis of Tavares, Fla., her Uncle Arnold Creech Franks of Sharon Conn., and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Memorial Garden of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Craig Kallio officiating. A reception will follow in the church Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to The Humane Society, 969 Oak Ridge Turnpike Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
