01-30-2015 - A Love Story Beverly Stout Rice died   March 5, 2012 her son Dylan died June 2013
Obituary for Dylan Edward Rice Dylan Rice, 26, of Marietta, GA passed away suddenly on June 5, 2013. Dylan was the son of Beverly and Robert “Bob” Rice. Dylan was a kind and gentle person with many interests. He loved photography and astronomy’ and he combined these two interests by photographing among other celestial objects, shooting stars and comets. He also loved trains and could identify them just by listening to them. After the deaths of his parents, Dylan was left alone in the world. He had never driven a car, written a check, taken care of a house, paid bills or spent much time with people outside his family. In the last year of his life he made many new friends and worked hard to gain the skills necessary to live on his own. He learned to drive and got his driver’s license and assumed the responsibilities of adulthood. He accomplished in one short year the skills it takes most of us years to develop. Sadly, he was never able to recover completely from the loss of his beloved mother. He will be deeply missed by the many friends and neighbors who came to know and care for him during the last year of his short life. A graveside service will be held 11:30 am Tuesday at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta with Rev. Johnny Foster officiating. Beverly Viola Stout Rice

Beverly Viola Stout Rice, 63, of Marietta, GA died March 5, 2012. Graveside Services were held at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta with Rev. Johnny Foster officiating.

Mrs. Rice was born in the small Appalachian coal mining town of Beckley, West Virginia August 23, 1948. Beverly spent her childhood and young life growing up in Oak Ridge, TN until she left to attend college at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she acquired two master's degrees, one in mathematics and the other in French language.

It was here that she also met her future husband Robert Wayne Rice, a young electrical engineering student who was also from Oak Ridge. The two eventually married on September 4, 1971 at Glenwood Baptist Church, and shortly thereafter moved to Marietta. On May 15, 1987 she gave birth to her son Dylan Edward Rice at Northside Regional Hospital. She often referred to her son Dylan as her miracle child because she was told she was incapable of having children.

Mrs. Rice held a variety of jobs over the course of her life such as programming computers that controlled nuclear processing centrifuges and developing computer graphics for the military to working as a published knitwear designer and a teacher for elementary and middle schools. Nothing compared to her main passion of raising a family. During all the hardships the family endured her love, faith, and determination kept her family together. After the unexpected death of her husband in February 2012 her strength and courage became weaker by the day. Beverly's own heart, weak with grief and sorrow finally gave out.

Beverly is survived by her only son Dylan Rice who will forever love and cherish her for all the love and happy memories she shared.
