02-18-2016 - 2016-Reunion Bio 2016 Keller Reed

REED A. KELLER:  RETIRED PWC EXECUTIVE PARTNER, PRIVATE INVESTOR & CONSULTANT

From 1983 until his retirement in 2002, Reed was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a professional services firm formed by the 1998 merger of Price Waterhouse (PW) and Coopers & Lybrand (C&L).  After transferring to Atlanta from Dallas as a C&L direct admission partner, Reed quickly rose in the firm to become Global Vice Chairman and a member of C&L’s executive leadership team.  Following the merger of C&L and PW, he was appointed PWC Vice Chairman with responsibility for Retirement & Health Plan Consulting & Outsourcing Worldwide.

Reed was the CEO of one of three entity spin-offs from PwC in 2002.  The spin-off, containing significant elements of the PW+C&L Consulting/Outsourcing business, was sold to Mellon Financial Corporation (now BNY Mellon) in a private sale.  Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (“WCAS”) was also a bidder for PwC’s Consulting/Outsourcing business.  WCAS’ interest in acquiring the PwC spin-off led to Mr. Keller’s subsequent association with Welsh Carson as a “bankable” executive.

Reed was an operating executive for companies funded by WCAS for an eight-year period beginning in 2002 and ending in 2010.  WCAS is a Private Equity firm based in New York which focuses on three market sectors:  healthcare services, tech-enabled business services and media/information companies.  Reed served as CEO and in various other leadership roles for WACS-financed companies.   He joined WCAS in 2002 shortly after retiring from PWC.

Following his term at WCAS, Reed became a Founding Partner in the successful launch of a Registered Investment Company (RIC).  For three years, beginning in April 2011, he served as Trust President, BPV Funds and also as Managing Partner, Sales & Distribution for the Fund Advisor, BPV Capital Management.

Mr. Keller presently serves on a number of for-profit and non-profit Boards including the University of Tennessee’s (UT) Advisory Board to the College of Business Administration.

Reed received a BS degree in business management from UT in 1970.  He also received an MBA degree from UT in 1974 while working as a Graduate Assistant in the College of Business during the launch of UT’s Executive Education Programs.

Reed served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve during the Viet Nam war era.

He and Cathy Keller married in 1974.  They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
