 Oak Ridge High School Class of 1966 - Latest News 12-09-2009 - Mother of Kay Miller Allison1966 Alene Helfenberger Miller Share:ShareThis Print Comment Back Home Alene Helfenberger Miller Original Oak Ridger -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submitted Posted Dec 06, 2009 @ 09:34 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Alene Helfenberger Miller, 89, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2009, at her home in Oak Ridge. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and listening to the golden oldies. Born June 24, 1920, in Harriman, Tenn., she was preceded in death by husband, Archie Miller; parents, Edward and Minnie Helfenberger; brothers, Charles Helfenberger and Forrest Helfenberger; and sister, Evelyn Hicks. She is survived by daughter, Kay Allison, and son, Max Miller, both of Oak Ridge; and daughter, Melissa Whittle, and son-in-law, David Whittle, of Farragut. She is also survived by grandsons, Tyler and Ben Whittle, Jason Allison and wife, Shanna, James Allison and wife, Sarah, and granddaughter, Jennifer Allison Mallory, and husband, Tony; great-grandchildren, Karey Allison, Christian Mallory, Emily Rose Allison, and Ashli Grace Allison. A family graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
