 Oak Ridge High School Class of 1966 - Latest News 06-23-2010 - Don Walker, 1965 Obit Donald Edward Walker Former K-25 refrigeration mechanic Posted Jun 14, 2010 @ 08:31 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Donald Edward Walker, 63, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Serene Manor Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born June 2, 1947, in Oak Ridge, the son of Joseph Alexander Walker and Beatrice Ruth Crittenden Walker. He worked for many years as a refrigeration mechanic with ORGDP, K-25. Mr. Walker had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton and the Tennessee Defense Force. He enjoyed hiking, collecting cars, spending time in the mountains and at the beach. He is survived by a son, Blake Edward Walker of Knoxville; daughter, Melanie Lynn Robinson of Lenoir City; brother, Randy Mike Walker and wife, Cindy, of Knoxville; sisters, Jo Walker Bruce of Knoxville and Kay Walker Hembry and husband, Glen, of Gainesville, Fla.; grandchildren, Brinley Emerson Walker, Riley Alexander Robinson and Amelia Rose Robinson; nieces and nephews, Tonya Rose Johnson, Melissa Rose, Tammy Griffin, Glen Hembry Jr., Christin Walker and Jeremy Walker; and two great-nieces and two great-nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Samuel Dean officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be in the form of donations to Cornerstone of Recovery in Knoxville.
